1. About these terms
These terms apply to our website and online classroom membership. They are provided by B&E Academy Ltd, trading as Upgrade Economics (company number 12649599, registered office 4 Lock Court, Brize Norton, Carterton, OX18 1NS). By using our website or joining the membership, you agree to these terms.
Private tutoring is arranged separately with the student and, for students under 18, their parent or guardian.
2. The membership
The membership costs £25 per month and renews automatically until you cancel. It gives you access to our library of recorded lessons and resources, and to our live Q&A sessions, currently held every Monday at 5:00pm UK time on Microsoft Teams.
Payments are taken by our payment provider through our membership platform. You can cancel at any time, and our cancellation policy explains how and when your access ends. If a payment fails, we may suspend access until it is resolved.
3. Using the membership
Your membership is for your own personal use. Please do not:
- share your login with anyone else;
- copy, download, record, screenshot or redistribute our lessons or resources, or post them online;
- record live sessions or share other members' personal information; or
- behave in a way that is abusive or disruptive to others.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms.
4. Members under 18
If you are under 18, you must have the permission of a parent or guardian to join. We take safeguarding seriously, and you can read how we work on our safeguarding page.
5. Our content and results
Our lessons and resources are designed to support students studying Edexcel A-Level Economics A. Upgrade Economics is independent and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Pearson or Edexcel.
We work hard to make our content accurate and useful, but we cannot guarantee any particular grade or exam result, as these depend on many factors including your own effort.
6. Changes to the membership
We add to and update our content over time, and may reorganise lessons or change the time or format of live sessions where reasonably necessary. If a change means we are no longer providing the membership substantially as described, you may have the right to end it and receive an appropriate refund, as explained in our cancellation policy.
7. Ownership of our content
We own, or are licensed to use, the lessons, videos, notes and other materials on our website and in the membership. While you are a member, you may use them for your own study. All other rights are reserved.
8. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your legal rights as a consumer. Subject to that, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for problems caused by third-party services such as YouTube, Microsoft Teams or your internet connection.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be on our website, and we will tell members about significant changes.
10. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
